The film Tezaab, which gave Madhuri Dixit her breakout role, is getting a remake. Murad Khetani, the producer of the films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 Thadam Hindi adaptation, and Ranbir Kapoor's Animal, has recently bought the rights to remake the N Chandra film. Apart from Madhuri Dixit, the 1988 film also stars Anil Kapoor, Anupam Kher, and Chunky Panday. Khetani had stated that the plot would be updated to cater to "modern times."

Madhuri has now reacted to the announcement of the Tezaab remake in an interview with News18. She asked how does it matter if she was fine with it or not. She further said that he (Murad) is creating the movie, and art is open to interpretation. So if Murad Khetani comes up with a different method to accomplish it, that's his creativity.

Art is open to interpretation, she noted, highlighting her recent collaboration with musician Raja Kumari for the rendition of the 1995 track ‘Made In India’, which was originally sung by Alisha Chinai. She said many songs have had their own versions in the past, and people have added their own originality to them. Raja Kumari has released an adaptation of Alisha Chinai's original song Made in India, which features the actress. Madhuri said although Raja Kumari grew up in the United States, the singer has her heart in India and that she has added her own spin, ideas, and emotions to what she feels about ‘Made in India’.

Madhuri celebrated her birthday on May 15, and pleased her audience with a new single, 'Tu Hai Mera'. It is her second single, following the release of her debut song, 'Candle’ in 2021. She said the track is dedicated to all her fans continue to love and support her.

Meanwhile, Tezaab, which premiered 34 years ago has since gained a cult following. It also features the popular dance number "Ek Do Teen" by Madhuri Dixit, which continues to be a huge sensation among viewers even today. The film is currently available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.

Madhuri Dixit, on the other hand, is working on a Prime Video original movie, Maja Maa. A family entertainer, the quirky drama also features Gajraj Rao, Ritwik Bhowmik, Barkha Singh, Srishti Shrivastava, Sheeba Chaddha, Rajit Kapur and Simone Singh.
