Being a diabetic patient, he fell prey to severe metabolic acidosis and died of multiple organ failure at 5 pm, the hospital management said.
The dance choreographer, who gathered prominence with his appearances in shows like Aata, Dhee, Jabardasth recently, worked in several Telugu films over the years, composing moves for over 1500 songs. Having distanced himself from the industry lately, he was a regular in Youtube channels for his controversial interviews. He played a crucial role in grooming the careers of several contemporary choreographers like Sekhar in their early years.
Several leading names in the Telugu film fraternity have conveyed their condolences to the family of Rakesh master. Some of the most popular films that the choreographer had worked for, include Manasichanu, Yuvaraju, Sitarama Raju, Girlfriend, Budget Padmanabham, Chirunavvutho, Devadasu, Lahiri Lahiri Lahirilo and others, to name a few.
The choreographer, when he was 10, took to dancing after being inspired by Mithun Chakraborty’s Disco Dancer in the 80s. He had later founded a dancing school in Tirupathi and taught students for a meagre fee of Rs 5. He sought opportunities in the film industry and shifted base to Madras briefly. During his television appearances, he constantly batted for a better presence of local choreographers in the film industry, challenging bigwigs like Prabhudeva.
Rakesh master was particularly bitter about his lows, tiffs with his counterparts in the film industry during his last set of interviews. OTTplay.com hopes Rakesh master’s family finds strength to come to terms with his passing away.
