Telugu Film Chamber will take the initiative to organise the event at Shilpakala Vedika this weekend
Applause has been pouring in from all corners across the globe for composer MM Keeravaani, lyricist Chandrabose ever since their RRR song Naatu Naatu made history by winning the first ever Oscar for an Indian film this year. While several celebs have personally congratulated the duo at their residence for their memorable feat since their return, the entire industry plans to hold a grand event to felicitate them this weekend.
The Telugu film industry will celebrate the feat of the composer and the lyricist in an event to be be held at Shilpakala Vedika, Hyderabad on April 9, this Sunday from 6 pm. The who’s who of the industry including the leading actors, producers, directors and technicians will be attending the event. The event aims to honour the talent and hard work of the team that played an integral role in the success Naatu Naatu.
In a media note, Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce’s honorary secretary Damodar Prasad shares, “It’s an event that will serve as a proud moment for all of us who love Telugu cinema.” Naatu Naatu, sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, was choreographed by Prem Rakshith. The song was shot in Ukraine in a schedule lasting over a two and a half weeks.

For the uninitiated, RRR, starring Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Olivia Morris, was directed by SS Rajamouli and produced by DVV Danayya under DVV Entertainment. The film was a box office monster worldwide grossing a little over Rs 1200 crore.The film’s popularity skyrocketed with its OTT release on multiple platforms.
While the Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam versions of RRR released on ZEE5 initially, the Hindi version premiered on Netflix. The film was later made available on another leading platform Disney+ Hotstar. RRR is a historic fiction drama based on two real life Telugu warriors Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sita Rama Raju, played by Jr NTR and Ram Charan respectively.
