The film starring Abhiram Daggubati and Geethika wrapped its shoot earlier this week
Director Teja, who proved there was fire in his belly yet again with Rana Daggubati's hit political drama Nene Raju Nene Manthri, is in the news for a launch vehicle Ahimsa now. The filmmaker all through his career, paved a way for the future of many successful actors in the industry from Uday Kiran to Reema Sen to Nithiin to Sadaa to Navdeep and others. Now, with Ahimsa, he introduces Abhiram Daggubati, producer Suresh Babu's second son and Rana Daggubati's younger brother, to the industry.
Geethika plays the female lead in the romantic drama. However, Ahimsa isn't only special for the debut of Abhiram, but also for the comeback of an actor and a composer. Yes, you may have guessed it right by now. Ahimsa will mark the return of Sadaa to Telugu cinema after a eight year-long sabbatical. She recently made an appearance in ZEE5's popular web show Hello World, produced by Niharika Konidela as well. She shot with the team in the interiors of Madhya Pradesh for the film earlier this year.
For the unversed, Sadaa was launched in films by Teja himself with Jayam, the romantic drama alongside Nithiin. The Tamil remake of Jayam along with (Jayam) Ravi also marked her entry into Tamil cinema. In addition, Ahimsa will have Teja and composer RP Patnaik joining hands after 15 years. They had last collaborated for Nandamuri Kalyan Ram and Kajal Aggarwal's Lakshmi Kalyanam. The composer is naturally excited to prove himself all over again after a lull phase.
Rajat Bedi, Sadaa, Ravi Kale, Kamal Kamaraju, Manoj Tiger, Kalpalatha and Devi Prasad too play important roles in Ahimsa. P Kiran is bankrolling the film under Anandi Art Creations. While Sameer Reddy cranks the camera, the film will be edited by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao. Anil Achugatla has written the dialogues with Chandrabose coming up with the lyrics. The film's shoot was wrapped yesterday. The makers had earlier launched the first look of the film too. The release date will be confirmed shortly.
