A working still of the film

Gautham Menon had recently taken to his social media page to announce that the last leg shooting of Silambarasan-starrer Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is currently underway. He had also informed fans of the star and other film lovers that Siddhi Idnani has been roped in to play the female lead in the project, contrary to the reports that Kayadu Lohar is essaying the role.

Radhika Sarath Kumar, who plays a pivotal role in the movie, as mother character to Silambarasan, has now revealed a working still from the location. The picture has the senior actress posing for a photo along with Silambarasan, Gautham and Angelina, who play her daughter in the project.

Later, Varun who belongs to the family of Vels Film International, the production house which is bankrolling the film, too, surprised fans of Silambarasan by releasing a picture featuring both of them. Posting the picture which has the two actors smiling, he tweeted, "Happy conversations !! Lovely catching up with you and getting your insights @SilambarasanTR_ anna ! Love yu as always (sic)."

Fans are going gaga over the Maanaadu star's lean avatar in the picture. Interestingly, Varun is the lead in Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha, which is directed by Gautham and produced by Vels Film International. The action-packed trailer of the long-pending movie was released recently.

AR Rahman composes music for the movie which has editing by Anthony and cinematography by Siddhartha Nuni. Siddique and Neeraj Madhav are other actors who play key roles in the film, the teaser of which was unveiled recently.

The makers have adapted the basic plot of the novel Agni Kunjondru Kanden, which is inspired from a poem written by Subramania Bharati, written by screenplay writer B Jeyamohan. Silambarasan had lost more than 10 kilos to play the character in the film.
