Karthi in Sardar

The shooting of PS Mithran's Karthi-starrer Sardar had commenced a year ago, but the second wave of pandemic had disrupted the first schedule after a few days of production. The team, which was planning to shoot a few crucial portions in North Indian states, had to postpone shooting for several months.

A while ago, a couple of stills from the movie got leaked on social media and had gone viral. One of the pictures has Karthi in a young avatar, while the other has him sporting an aged appearance. The movie's motion poster was unveiled a year ago which had Karthi playing a prisoner.

It is known that the actor will be essaying two characters in the project. Siva's Siruthai (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar and YouTube) was the last movie in which he was seen playing dual roles. Team Sardar has now released a few more stills from the film. While one of them has Karthi in a cop's attire, a few others have him discussing the script with Mithran and Munishkanth, who plays a crucial character in the project.

According to a source, he will be seen as a father and a son in Sardar; its story revolves around a son who goes all the way to rescue his father who is a prisoner. The team is currently shooting action sequences in Mysore.

GV Prakash has composed music for the film which has Raashi Khanna and Rajisha Vijayan playing female leads. Ruben and George C Williams handle editing and cinematography respectively for the movie, while K Kadhir is at the helm of art direction.

Dhilip Subbarayan has composed action scenes for Sardar which has been written by Pon Parthipan, Roju and Bipin Ragu. Karthi's next release will be Muthiah's Viruman followed by Mani Ratnam's multi-starrer flick Ponniyin Selvan.
