RS Ramakrishnan has written dialogues for Pathu Thala which has action choreography and editing by Boopathi Selvaraj respectively. Rahman is teaming up with Krishna after Sillunu Oru Kadhal, which released in 2006.
Narthan, who directed the original version, was brought on board to helm Pathu Thala as well, but he opted out because of creative differences which cropped out between him and the producer.
