Team Maaran releases a new still, featuring Dhanush and Malavika Mohanan, from the action thriller

The film directed by Karthick Naren is expected to release soon on Disney+ Hotstar,

The first single of Maaran, titled Polladha Ulagam, was unveiled by its makers a couple of of weeks ago. The peppy song composed by GV Prakash has Dhanush shaking a leg to it stylishly under the choreography of leading Tollywood dance master Jani. The team has now released a new still on the occasion of Valentine's Day.

It has Dhanush and Malavika Mohanan sharing an intimate moment, the two are seen looking into each other's eyes, and are completely in love with each other. The social media handle of Sathya Jyothi Films, which is bankrolling the project, unveiled the photo along with the caption, "Here is the Valentine's Day special poster from team #Maaran ft. the dashing @dhanushkraja & beautiful @MalavikaM_ (sic)."

The post also mentioned that the movie will be available on Disney+ Hotstar soon. The makers had announced their decision to have a direct-to-OTT release a while ago. Fans of Dhanush are eagerly waiting to know when an official announcement will be made on the film's release.

Karthick Naren has directed the movie which has Samuthirakani, Smruthi Venkat, Ameer and Mahendran among others playing pivotal roles. Dhanush essays a journalist in it while Samuthirakani will be seen as a crooked politician.

Maaran, which will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada, has cinematography by Vivekanand Santhosham and editing by Prasanna GK. Malayalam screen writers Suhas and Sharfu have written the screenplay for the film along with Karthick, while lyricist Vivek has written the dialogues for the movie.

Dhanush and Asuran last teamed up for Vetrimaaran's Asuran (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) which released in 2019. The duo had earlier joined hands for Polladhavan (streaming on Sun NXT, Jio Cinema and MX Player), Aadukalam (streaming on Sun NXT, Jio Cinema and MX Player) and Mayakkam Enna (streaming on MX Player).
