Tarak Ponnappa is Tollywood bound as antagonist to Aadi Saikumar in CSI Sanatan

While this is the Kannada actor’s first Telugu film, he has done a web series Loser Season 2 too.

Model-turned-actor Tarak Ponnappa, who was most recently seen in the thriller Amruth Apartments, is heading to Tollywood. The actor, who has been getting offers from the neighbouring state, especially for web series, has already shot for the sports drama Loser Season 2, which also features Dhanya Balakrishnan. He will now shoot for his debut in Telugu cinema, as antagonist to Aadi Saikumar (the son of veteran actor Saikumar) in the film CSI Sanatan.

Tarak, who is currently shooting for the film, directed by first-time director Sivashankar Dev in Hyderabad, says that he plays a ruthless business tycoon who will go to any extremes for his benefit. Aadi, who plays the title role, a crime scene investigation officer in CSI Sanatan, is paired opposite Misha Narang. Ali Reza, Madhusudan, Nandini Rai and Vasanthi essay crucial roles in the film, produced by Ajay Srinivas under Chaganti Productions.

As for his Telugu web series, Tarak says, “I have a limited screen presence in season 2 of Loser, but the makers say that they are looking at concluding the story with a third season, where, I have been promised a meatier role. This was the first venture for me to get into the Telugu industry, and it seemed the right choice,” he says.

Meanwhile, back home in Kannada cinema, Tarak is looking forward to the release of his next, a film called Gilky in which he plays a character with intellectual impairment, and is paired with Chaitra Achar, who, in turn, essays a character with cerebral palsy. The narrative, says the actor, follows the relationship these two characters forge in their own little ways.
