Season 2 of the series will premiere on Hoichoi from October 6.
The trailer of Tarader Shesh Tarpon season 2 was dropped on Hoichoi's Instagram handle today. Helmed by Gautam Bhattacharya, the second season also reminds the audience of well-loved personalities who passed away last year like Soumitra Chatterjee, Shankha Ghosh, Mrinal Sen, Irrfan Khan, Swatilekha Sengupta, Buddhadeb Dasgupta, Amal Dutta and Mahua Roychowdhury. Their memories will be reminisced on by their co-actors or closed ones.
The series will premiere on the popular Bengali streaming platform on October 6.

The trailer tugs at bittersweet feelings as the interviewees, many of them well-known personalities themselves, like actress Shatabdi Roy, poet Srijato, director Shoojit Sircar and actor Jisshu Sengupta talk about the departed souls.
Towards the beginning, Soumitra Chatterjee’s daughter Poulami Bose reveals that there wasn’t a pressing economic need for the veteran actor to step out to act amid the pandemic, and as she says those words, it leaves a lump in your throat. The glimpses of the personalities as seen in the trailer, are a mesh of personal and career-related vistas, etching vignettes about them. Director Sandip Ray is seen saying about his father and world-renowned filmmaker Satyajit Ray that another doyen of Bengali cinema, director Mrinal Sen had expressed his sense of loss after the demise of Ray. Jisshu Sengupta reflects on Irrfan Khan, saying how the effortless actor was conversing normally with Jisshu and just went into the dialogue flawlessly in that flow. Ace actor Pankaj Tripathi says in the trailer that Irrfan Khan surprised him with his acting chops. “He used to bring something different to the scene. He broke the mould of the methods that we would have thought of while doing a scene,” says Tripathi. Towards the end, Radhika Madan, Shoojit Sircar and Mahesh Bhatta are seen speaking about Irrfan Khan, and the huge loss that his death brought to the Indian film industry. The interviewees include Poulami Bose, film director Atanu Ghosh, actress Sohini Halder, Gautam Halder, Rudraprasad Sengupta, Debshankar Haldar, Raj Chakraborty, Madhabi Mukherjee, actor Dipankar Dey, Mamta Shankar, Bratya Basu, Sudipta Chakraborty and Rituparna Sengupta. Season 2 promises to offer an intimate look into the illustrious departed lives.

Meanwhile, the first season of Tarader Shesh Tarpon offered a personal peek into the lives of the famous footballers Subimal Goswami, popularly known as Chuni Goswami; PK Banerjee, Bengal’s famous cricketer Gopal Bose; and talented director Rituparno Ghosh.
