Irrfan Khan's wife Sutapa Sikdar also spoke about Tarader Shesh Tarpon paying a tribute to the beloved actor.
The Bengali series Tarader Shesh Tarpon has been renewed for the second season. The Hoichoi original series is directed by Aritra Mukherjee and is based on Gautam Bhattacharya's novel titled Tarader Shesh Chithi. The Bengali series celebrates the iconic memories of personalities that left the world and this time they paid a tribute to Irrfan Khan. Hosted by Gautam, the makers invited varied personalities from the industry to share their thoughts and memories of the departed.
For Irrfan, several leading artists and celebrities namely Jisshu Sengupta, Shoojit Sircar, Roopa Ganguly, Tigmangshu Dhulia, Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, Mahesh Bhatt, Anees Bazmee, Deepak Dobriyal, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Shaailesh R. Singh, Sanjay Chauhan, Ajay Brahmatmaj, Guneet Monga, Radhika Madan, Nikkhil Advani, Abhishek Dutta, Homi Adajania, Parno Mittra, Pankaj Tripathi and Sanjay Gupta spoke at length about the beloved actor.
Talking about the same, in a statement, Irrfan's wife Sutapa Sikdar stated, "The way he used to talk to people, I'm sure everyone could understand the kind of honesty he had in him, which reached the other person through his words."
On Irrfan as an effortless actor, Sutapa further said that always used to say that he never really acted, She heard this innumerable times from innumerable people and always wondered if so much hard work goes into 'not acting', how much effort would be going into 'acting'.
Sutapa also said, "I have never seen a man in my entire life working so hard, even my son, who is getting ready to walk on his father's path, asks me what he used to do, and I always tell him that your father used to work 10 times harder than you do."
While producers Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy of Windows Production also heaped praises on Irrfan. Shiboprosad shared that for him, Irrfan was like reading a book, which he never wanted to end as it holds the unavoidable truth.
The producer further said, "Irrfan Khan was not only a great actor but a genuine human being and the fact that he is no more is indeed heartbreaking."
Shiboprosad revealed that when Aritra told him that he is planning to pay tribute to Irrfan, it was an honour for the entire team. He is very thankful to the ones, who have spoken about the late actor in the episode.
The producer concluded by saying, "I hope the series will be able to overwhelm the audiences the way it overwhelms us with emotions."
