The Tamil dubbed version of Rishab Shetty's latest release Kantara, which has taken the film industry by storm, has released across Tamil Nadu to packed theatres. The film, directed by Rishab Shetty, also has the actor playing the lead along with Kishore. While Rishab plays a Kambala athlete in the film, Kishore plays an honest police officer named Muralidhar. The film is set in Tulunadu, in coastal Karnataka.  The plot revolves around the conflict between humans and nature. The plot is set in the backdrop of the 18th century when a king offered a piece of land to the local tribes in exchange for a deity that offered him peace. Years later, his successor asks the tribals to return the land.

The film, which has opened to fabulous reviews, has now been dubbed into Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Dream Warrior Pictures, who distributed the Tamil dubbed version of K.G.F. Chapter 2 in Tamil Nadu, has also acquired the theatrical rights of Kantara in the state. Today, a video of Rishab Shetty meeting Karthi, shared by the production house, has been doing the rounds on the internet.  Karthi had recently unveiled the Tamil trailer of the film on his social media handle and had called the trailer a spectacle. Karthi is seen telling Rishab that his brother-in-law was quite impressed by the film. Rishab then informs him that he wanted to address the caste inequality in the society.

It was only yesterday that Naane Varuvean actor Dhanush was praised for the film. He had posted on his social media handle, "Kantara ..  Mind blowing !! A must watch .. Rishab Shetty , you should be very proud of yourself. Congratulations hombale films .. keep pushing the boundaries. A big hug to all the actors and technicians of the film. God bless (sic)."

Music for the film is by Ajaneesh B Loknath. While the cinematography is by Arvind S Kashyap, editing is by KM Prakash and Pratheek Shetty. Kantara also stars Sapthami Gowda, Achyuth Kumar, Pramod Shetty, Pramod Tumminad and is bankrolled by Hombale Films.
