The actor plays one of the three sons of the Mughal Emperor Akbar in the upcoming web series, which releases on ZEE5
Taaha Shah plays Murad, one of the three sons of Mughal Emperor Akbar, in the period drama Taj: Divided by Blood.
Speaking about his character, Taaha explains that even though on the surface it looks like Murad is evil, one will understand after watching the show that he is passionate, and his actions are a result of deep emotions.
Taaha said, "Every character in the show has been written wonderfully; our scriptwriter has done a great job. If I talk about my character, on the surface, he comes across as someone who is evil. But I believe that any amount of evil always comes from a place of love. Deep down, he is really hurt. And from that deep hurt arises a new person who does not love, and wants to take revenge. He just wants to grab everything without regard for anyone. He is vulnerable, and his actions come from a space of love."
Taj: Divided by Blood is set in the 16th century and revolves around the succession of emperor Akbar's empire among his three sons - Salim, Murad and Daniyal. Naseeruddin Shah plays Akbar in the show.
Taaha has appeared in films like Luv Ka The End, Gippi, Barkhaa, Baar Baar Dekho and Ranchi Diaries. He has acted in the web series Bekaboo 2, which made him popular with young audiences.
Taj: Divided by Blood has a huge star cast that includes actors like Dharmendra, Rahul Bose, Zarina Wahab, Sandhya Mridul, Aashim Gulati and Aditi Rao Hydari. It will be available to stream on OTTplay and ZEE5 starting March 3.
