Bhuvan Bam returns as the power-hungry Vasya in Taaza Khabar season 2, the trailer of which will be out tomorrow
Bhuvan Bam surprised one and all with his OTT debut (on an OTT platform) as Vasya in Taaza Khabar season 1. The character brought about too many twists and still gives goosebumps to many. Not just the character graph, the story in itself held a lot of power, which Bhuvan promises will return fourfold in season 2. So, before the trailer for Taaza Khabar 2 drops tomorrow i.e. on September 4, here's looking at Vasya's boon-or-bane situation from the very start...
Vasant Gawde, better known as Vasya, is introduced as someone who cleans the public toilet so that his mother does not have to work in her old age. He gets an earful from all the society members but takes it all so that his mother is not tortured.
Vasya finds a way out of the life, where his only blessing is his ladylove Madhu (Shriya Pilgaonkar), who is also a s*x worker. Vasya receives an old lady's blessings, and suddenly, he can read what will happen in the future.
Not able to understand what to do about the power that can turn his life around overnight, Vasya first tries to test it. He reads the news to understand how much he should charge for selling a vintage vase.
Vasya finally helps other people around through his powers. He helps a contestant win live game shows and anybody who is in need of answers. But it is not enough. All that Vasya could do is free Madhu from the brothel.
Vasya then ventured into betting on cricket matches. He earns more than enough to last many lifetimes, but greed does not let Vasya stop. He bets all of his money behind one match he feels is important. This builds a crucial moment on the show.
Vasya shows his darkest side to his loved ones. He helps his mother build her dream villa, but the cops have their eyes on him. Vasya can barely hide things anymore, and distrust creeps in. He cannot look at any of his team members the same and doubts each and every one of them while also calling them out for trying to be sane. Now, Vasya is a megalomaniac, and there's little hope for return.
