It’s been almost a year since actor Gurucharan Singh, aka Roshan Singh Sodhi from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been in the limelight. The actor, who disappeared last year only to return after a while—sending shockwaves across the country—has been surrounded by numerous challenges. Be it his debt or his struggle to find work, he has been making headlines for quite some time. This month, he yet again left fans concerned when reports suggested he was admitted to the hospital in critical condition and hadn’t eaten for a while. Now, his father, Hargit Singh, has provided an update confirming the actor is finally out of danger.

Gurucharan Singh Out Of Danger

Recently, friend Bhakti Soni revealed that Gurucharan Singh had stopped eating since his return in May 2024. The actor, during his disappearance, had actually gone on a spiritual retreat without informing anyone. Now, his father has confirmed that he is recovering. “By Waheguru’s grace, I’m happy to share that he is now doing much better. Recently, he had to be hospitalized due to severe weakness which had left him in critical co ndition for some time,” he said.

As per News18 he added, “It was a deeply worrying period for our family, but with the blessings of the Almighty and the efforts of the doctors, he is now out of danger. He is currently recovering at home and focusing on regaining his strength. Gurucharan has started eating well, and we ensure he’s given fresh, nutritious meals. He’s also making it a priority to spend some quiet moments at the Gurudwara. In fact, he has gone there just now.”

Hargit Singh continued, “Gurucharan has always believed in spreading positivity through his work, and seeing how much he is loved has deeply moved him. He has begun taking short walks and is slowly returning to a routine, but we are being very careful to ensure he doesn’t overexert himself. We are hopeful that with time, rest, and care, he will return to his full form.”

He was also asked about the ongoing court case against Gurucharan Singh, and his father said that the case has been going on for five decades and only God knows what will happen. Meanwhile, after claims of him having a Rs 1.5 crore debt, reports emerged that the actor had secured an assignment worth Rs 13 lakhs and planned to come to Bombay to work on it. It was said he intended to use the money to pay off his debt.
