Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the longest-running shows on Indian television. Produced by Asit Kumarr Modi, the sitcom has undergone several changes in the last few years. Many actors from the original star cast quit TMKOC and new actors joined the show. Recently, Palak Sindhwani, who played Sonu, quit Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. She was replaced by Khushi Mali as Sonu. Now, the producer has reacted to casting a new actor as Sonu in TMKOC.
Asit Kumarr Modi on casting new Sonu
In an interview with ETimes TV, Asit Kumarr Modi revealed factors that were considered while casting new Sonu for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The producer stated that they consider an actor's family background for casting a young character like Sonu as TMKOC is meant for family audiences.
He further mentioned that they also looked at the person's habits, background, and how much they value their family. Modi added that TMKOC is a show that can make anyone famous even after just one or two episodes. It is because the audience showers them with love.
"We also have to check if the new actor can handle that kind of attention, as it can be overwhelming. We want to avoid any drama, especially early on. There are several factors to consider, like acting skills, spontaneity, and their eagerness to work," revealed Asit.
Khushi Mali cast as new Sonu in TMKOC
Meanwhile, Khushi Mali has replaced Palak Sindhwani as Sonu in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The young actress expressed her excitement about being a part of the sitcom. "Sonu has so many wonderful attributes, and I am genuinely excited to connect with the audience and build a strong bond with them," said Khushi.
