Taapsee Pannu, Anurag Kashyap on not being invited on Koffee With Karan 7: We’ll start our own show

After Taapsee Pannu recently took a dig at not being invited on Koffee With Karan 7, the actress and her Dobaaraa director Anurag Kashyap seem to have plans to brew something on their own. The duo recently opened up about their absence from the new season of Karan Johar’s talk show, and joked about the kind of talk show they wanted to start by themselves.

In conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Taapsee and Anurag reiterated that they will not be guests on Koffee With Karan 7, saying that they were probably not ‘exciting’ enough for it. The director joked that the two would start their own shows, keeping in mind their budgets of course, and his would be named Cutting with Kashyap. Anurag also had a host of suggestions about what he thought Taapsee’s show should be called, suggesting names like Tharra with Taapsee and Panna with Pannu, with the actress being in favour of the latter. She even joked that she wanted to get it copyrighted.

On the format of their ‘new show’, Taapsee joked that they would set up stalls, while the director added that they would all sit on the floor and make snacks. The duo also had a hilarious substitute for the coffee hamper, with Taapsee remarking “Hamper nahi.. we will hamper each other’s career”. Anurag also chimed in with “Hamper nahi. Hum thali mein khana parosenge aur wahi pe hi aata belenge. Yehi hone wala hai”.

Taapsee had earlier joked about not being invited on Karan’s show by saying that it was probably because the host did not find her sex life interesting enough.

Meanwhile, Dobaaraa will see Taapsee reunite with her Thappad co-star Pavail Gulati. The upcoming film is the Hindi remake of the Spanish science fiction drama Mirage. Dobaaraa will hit the silver screens on August 19.
