Randeep Hooda plays the role of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. The new promo featuring Randeep is out ahead of its film's OTT release.

Randeep Hooda's film Swatantrya Veer Savarkar clashed with Kunal Kemmu's Madgaon Express at the box office. Both films were theatrically released on March 22, 2024. Hooda's film with Ankita Lokhande got a mixed reception upon its theatrical release. Over two months after it was released in theatres, Swatantrya Veer Savarkar is now ready to premiere on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. Before its release on May 28 the makers dropped a promo, wherein Randeep talks about the brave revolutionary, Vinayak Damodar Savarkar.

The promo was shared by ZEE5 on Instagram. The clip begins with Randeep Hooda talking about the 'brave revolutionary' Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, whose name we have read in history books but don't recall his life story often. The actor further mentions that the revolutionary was someone 'jisey naa kaala paani rok paya aur naa hi angrez." If you haven't seen this promo yet, check it out right below:

While positing the above-shared on the gram, the streaming platform wrote, "Witness the untold story of the most dangerous revolutionary India has ever seen. SwatantryaVeerSavarkar premieres on 28th May, only on ZEE5 (sic)."

Randeep Hooda on playing lead role in Swatantrya Veer Savarkar

Meanwhile, in an official statement, Randeep Hooda spoke about playing the lead role of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar's role in Swatantrya Veer Savarkar.

"I must admit that I learnt a lot more about this inspiring hero after I started working on this project and I want to share this film with as many people as possible to counter the false narrative spread in popular culture to bury his legacy," he said.

The actor added that it was an honour for him to play the character of an influential yet maligned revolutionary who left a rich and inspiring legacy behind.
