As the film is gearing up for its OTT release on May 28, 2024, the makers are keeping the buzz around it by sharing details from the film. Today (May 25), the streaming platform shared some character posters from the film.
Taking to their official social media account, ZEE5 shared five character posters of Amit Sial as Babarao Savarkar, Rajesh Khera as Mahatma Gandhi, Brajesh Jha as Subhash Chandra Bose, Mrinal Dutt as Madan Lal Dhingra, and Jay Patel as Shyamji Krishna Varma. Sharing the intriguing posters, the makers wrote: "Some in favor, some against him. Dive deep into the stories of India’s greatest revolutionaries. #SwatantryaVeerSavarkar premieres on 28th May, only on ZEE5"

While announcing the OTT release date of Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, ZEE5 shared a promo from the film revealing that the film will premiere on the streaming platform on Veer Savarkar's 141st birth anniversary, which is on May 28. While sharing the news on social media, the makers penned, "Ankhand Bharat tha unka sapna, Hindutva thi jiski buniyaad. Watch the untold story of VeerSavarkar - ‘India’s Most Dangerous Revolutionary Ever’, premiering on his 141st birthday, 28th May only on ZEE5 (sic)."
Randeep Hooda who has not only acted in the film but also produced and directed it lost 30kgs to fit in the role of as Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. About his weight loss journey, he said, "When this movie, came to me I realized that I don’t look like him and thus I lost weight for this film."
Swatantrya Veer Savarkar is based on the life of Indian freedom fighter and reformer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, also known as Veer Savarkar. Helmed by Randeep, the film has been bankrolled by Anand Pandit and Sandeep Singh.
