Swatantrya Veer Savarkar box office collection day 2 - Randeep Hooda made his directorial debut with a film, based on the life of Indian freedom fighter and reformer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. The actor also co-wrote the film with Utkarsh Naithani. Although the movie clashed with Kunal Kemmu's Madgaon Express, it is managing well at the box office. Despite a slow start at the ticket window Swatantrya Veer Savarkar gained momentum at the BO on day two.
According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Swatantrya Veer Savarkar minted Rs 1.10 crore at the box office on day one. However, the film, starring Randeep Hooda and Ankita Lokhande, showed significant growth on day two. The movie collected Rs 2.25 crore at the ticket window and that brings the total box office collection to Rs 3.35 crore.
Although Swatantrya Veer Savarkar has given stiff competition to Madgaon Express, the Randeep Hooda film still lags behind Kunal Kemmu's directorial venture. The total box office collection of Madgaon Express is Rs 4.63 crore.
The buzz is that Swatantrya Veer Savarkar will drop on ZEE5 after its theatrical run ends. The film, featuring Ankita Lokhande as Yamuna Bai, is currently running in cinemas. After 45 to 60 days of the theatrical run, the film will have a digital release on the streaming platform. In Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, Randeep essays the role of Indian freedom fighter and reformer Vinayak Damodar Sawarkar.
Meanwhile, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Randeep Hooda revealed how challenging it was to don the hat of a director as well as an actor. For those who are unaware, Randeep starved in order to get the right physique for his character in Swatantrya Veer Savarkar.
The actor said, "Being starving and underweight as an actor is a luxury, being starving and underweight as a director is a curse. Because you lose patience, you don't have patience and you’re hungry."
