Her serial Tomar Khola Hawa ended last July
Swastika Dutta, who started her career on television, rose to fame with her OTT films. However, she never let her love for TV go. She has concentrated on films and web series. Her serial Tomar Khola Hawa ended last July and now she has been away from the serials for several months.
Swastika is busy with the shooting of the film Alaap. Directed by Premendu Bikash Chaki, the film also features Abir Chatterjee and Mimi Chakraborty. In an interview with Anandabar Online, Swastika said that she was not selective while working in films and serials. “I can’t move forward with a plan. Producers and channels will not give me work according to my wishes. Hence I do as the work comes,” she said.

Swastika thinks that very few actresses in the industry work at the same pace as in films, television, and the web. She is one of them. She said, “At this point in time, I think people will remember you as much as you are in front of them. It is because their choices are changing daily.”
Is she away from serials? Swastika laughed. “There was one and a half years gap after Ki Kore Bolbo Tomay. I was doing films and web series at that time,” she said. Several of her projects are waiting to be released. Talks about some new works are also ongoing. But Swastika doesn’t want to talk about them before they are finalised. In fact, Swastika will be seen with Santanu Maheshwari and Tota Roychowdhury in Pratim D Gupta’s Chaalchitro.
