Sushmita Sen reveals she was labelled 'opinionated' in 90s; 'Agar aap har cheez...'

Sushmita Sen, who will be seen in Aarya Antim Vaar, recalled the time she was labelled 'opinionated' in the industry. The actress also shared her thoughts about being authentic.

Sushmita Sen has been ruling everyone's hearts since the 1990s. The actress has done several Bollywood movies and given us a few memorable ones. As of today, the actress is gearing up for the release of her web show, Aarya Antim Vaar. Ahead of that, the actress interacted with the audience in a masterclass. During this session, Sushmita admitted that she was labelled 'opinionated' in the 90s. She recalled that an actress was perceived as 'difficult' if she asked too many questions.

Sushmita Sen recalls being called 'opinionated'

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Sushmita Sen was asked if she was ever called 'opinionated' for expressing her opinions as a woman. To this, the actress said, "Opinionated absolutely, I have faced." This happened to Sushmita back in the 90s.

She added that if an actress had questions regarding her role and more, she would be labelled a difficult actor to deal with. Sushmita mentioned that there was a misconception that women shouldn't ask questions. But she believes women should ask questions.

Further, the actress was also questioned about the challenges of being authentic. Sushmita said that being authentic is not a choice; it is who you are. And if a person is unique, then he or she would stand out as having a unique personality.

Sushmita Sen's upcoming project

Meanwhile, Sushmita Sen's upcoming project is Ram Madhvani's Aarya Antim Vaar. The third season of her OTT show was released last year. In this version of Aarya, the actress' character will face challenges. She will be clashing with Ila Arun's Nalini Sa in the series, which will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar. The show is scheduled for a digital premiere on February 9, 2024.

While Aarya was her debut OTT project, the actress did another web project, Taali, in 2023. She played the role of transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant in the series, which streamed on JioCinema. It was directed by Ravi Jadhav.
