Sushmita Sen on being selective about projects she takes up: Never believed in doing a lot

Sushmita Sen said that throughout her career, it has been her goal to see her work spark a conversation.

Sushmita Sen made her comeback to acting with Aarya, the International Emmy Award-nominated thriller series directed by Ram Madhvani. She reprised her role in Season 2, but since then there has been no word on what her next project will be.

In an interview with Hindustan Times the actor was asked why she has not been on a project signing spree ever since her show achieved global acclaim.

"Apart from Aarya there are two other scripts that I have green-lit which we are still work in progress. And that’s what I want to do. I have always been a very exclusive person. I’ve never believed in doing a lot, but doing little with everything you got. It is the kind of commitment I understand in life. So, whether it’s my professional, personal or social life, I follow that," said Sen.

Sen added that while Bollywood actors have a robust PR machinery working towards building and promoting their public image, she has chosen to stay away from this trend. The actor explained that she does not "want a lot of noise" but wants "conversations" regarding her work.

Sen said that throughout her career, it has been her goal to see her work spark a conversation. She explained that she wants to maintain a "one on one equation" with the audience, and for them to acknowledge the "honesty" that she puts in her work.
