Here’s a list of films that Sushant was offered but had to decline due to other commitments,
A lot of Bollywood fans are yet to recover fully from Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely demise exactly a year ago on June 14, 2020. The actor had a meteoric rise in the industry starring in films such as MS Dhoni and Chhichhore and that’s what made his death even more shocking.
In the course of his career, Sushant had starred in an array of films such as Kai Po Che, Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! and PK. However, he was also offered some big movies that he had to turn down. Here’s a list of movies that Sushant had said no to due to prior commitments.
Padmaavat
Sushant was reportedly offered the lead role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s critically and commercially acclaimed film Padmaavat. The filmmaker had disclosed this to the cops last year, while also revealing that he had offered SSR roles in Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani, both of which were pivotal in the rise of Ranveer Singh’s career, were also reportedly offered to Sushant first but the actor had to back out due to scheduling conflicts.
Romeo Akbar Walter
Sushant was initially attached to play the lead in the action film but dropped out leaving the producers to find a replacement in quick time. John Abraham later stepped in to play the part. Sushant had said that he loved the film’s story but prior commitments meant he couldn’t be part of the film.
Half Girlfriend
This film would have been Sushant’s second project based on Chetan Bhagat’s books after Kai Po Che. However, once again because of prior commitments, the actor revealed that he had to opt out of it. In fact, in an interview, Sushant had revealed that he lost out on 12 films in that particular year because he had signed two other movies – one of which was eventually dropped and the other delayed.
Fitoor
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Sushant had revealed that he was supposed to team up with Kai Po Che director Abhishek Kapoor again for Fitoor. However, this didn’t happen due to him being busy with another project. Aditya Roy Kapur had replaced him in Fitoor, which also starred Katrina Kaif.
