The producer of Panchathanthiram, PL Thenappan stated that he will try his best to bring the film back in theatres
Buoyed by the success of Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan's Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu re-release, it looks like Kamal Haasan's blockbuster comedy flick Panchathanthiram might also soon get a re-release. As the comedy caper completed 21 years of release, the film's producer PL Thenappan revealed on his social media handle that he had plans to re-release the film in theatres.
He wrote on his social media handle, "As we are celebrating #21YearsOfPanchathanthiram, I am so happy to see the movie is still loved and patronized by this generation of viewers. With the blessings and guidance of @ikamalhaasan sir, we will do our best to bring back the #Panchathanthiram movie to theatres again (sic)."
The news has come as a pleasant surprise for the fans of the actor, who are already basking in the success of the re-release of the digitally remastered version of the film. Fans have already been sharing their excitement about the same and have requested the producer to re-release the film at the earliest. Meanwhile, demands for the poster for the digital remastered version has also grown.

Panchathanthiram, is written and directed by KS Ravikumar and has an ensemble star cast comprising Kamal Haasan, Jayaram, Ramesh Aravind, Sriman, Yugi Sethu, Ramya Krishnan, Simran, Urvashi, Aishwarya, Sanghavi, Vidhya Venkatesh, Devayani and Nagesh to name a few.
The plot revolves around Ram (Kamal Haasan), who bids adieu to his playboy nature after marrying Mythili (Simran). But, a series of unfortunate incidents make Mythili presume that Ram hasn't changed at all and they decide to go their separate ways. On Ram's birthday, his buddies arrange for a fun evening with Maggie (Ramya Krishnan) to cheer him up, but things go wrong and soon, the bunch is stuck with a corpse and a bunch of diamonds.
Music for the film is by Deva and the album and the film were well received by the audience. Panchathanthiram continues to be one of the most viewed films on television even today.-
