Suriya's Surya S/O Krishnan re-release has been received with unprecedented fervour from fans in the Telugu states.

The Telugu version of Tamil superstar Suriya's cult classic S/O Krishnan, titled Vaaranam Aayiram in Tamil, has been re-released in cinemas. The re-release of this classic has sparked an overwhelming response from young audiences across the Telugu states, reigniting the magic that captivated hearts 15 years ago.

The videos from the theatres show an electrifying atmosphere, with viewers engaging as if experiencing the movie's brilliance for the very first time. Enthusiastic crowds spontaneously break into dance at the sound of hit numbers, along with cheers, applause, and shouts of joy.

The trade didn't expect to see such a such fervour from fans for a film that has been available for streaming and is over a decade old. It was one of the most-awaited releases among the fans of Telugu movies both in the USA and India. The movie was supposed to release last month, however, it was postponed. But, no one could have predicted the thunderous respose that Surya S/O Krishnan would receive from the fans in the Telugu states.

The re-release has been allocated a significant screen count in the Telugu states and many showings are already sold out for its Friday run.

Surya S/O Krishnan was written and directed by Gautham Menon and it was first released in cinemas in November 2008. The film became an instant classic soon after its release, especially thanks to composer Harris Jayaraj's chartbuster songs.

The film is a coming-of-age story, anchored by Suriya's remarkable double role performance. The heart of the film revolves around the a very heart-warming father-son relationship, as it follows Surya's journey through a series of heartbreaks, challenges, and triumphs, ultimately leading to redemption and fulfillment. It's Gautham's most personal movie.

The movie also stars Sameera Reddy, Simran, and Divya Spandana.
