Suriya's Amazon Prime Video film, Jai Bhim, gets A certificate; censored without cuts

Tha Se Gnanavel's Jai Bhim starring Suriya in an extended cameo, will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on November 2. An announcement was made by the makers on the same recently. Produced by Suriya himself along with Jyotika, under 2D Entertainment Pvt Ltd, the film is said to be based on a true incident which took place in the 90s.

Suriya's role, that of a lawyer, is also said to be based on the life of a senior lawyer who fought for the rights of a few downtrodden. The movie has has Prakash Raj, Rajisha Vijayan and Lijomol Jose playing pivotal roles.

Sean Roldan has composed for the film which has Philomin Raj and SR Kathir handling editing and cinematography respectively. Sean had tweeted on Tuesday that the makers had planned an announcement on the film which will be out on Wednesday, but there will be a slight delay. His post read, "I can assure you it’ll be worth the wait. Hold on just little longer friends."

It has now been revealed that the movie has been issued an 'A' certificate, with censor allowing the makers to proceed without any cuts. Though it is not sure if this is the update which Sean had referred to, fans of Suriya are thrilled with the censor report. Many of them took to social media to express their eagerness in watching the movie which is expected to touch a hard-hitting topic.

Bala's Nandha Mani Ratnam's Aaytha Ezhuthu, Hari's Aaru and Ram Gopal Varma's Rakta Charithra 2 were earlier films of Suriya which obtained an A certificate from the Censor Board.
