Suriya turns an advocate for his 39th film titled Jai Bhim

Jyothika donned the lawyer suit, standing up for the dignity of women, in her 2020 OTT release Ponmagal Vandhal and it's now her better-half, actor Suriya's turn to play an advocate for his 39th film, titled Jai Bhim. On the occasion of Suriya's 46th birthday, two looks from the film being directed by journalist-turned-filmmaker T S Gnanavel were released across social media, much to the delight of the actor's fans. Jai Bhim is being produced under the actor's home banner 2D Entertainment and has music by Sean Roldan.

Take a look at Suriya's tweet:

Going by the title and the looks, it's apparent that Suriya essays a lawyer with a conscience, being the voice of the voiceless. After stars like Dhanush and Rajinikanth, it is indeed refreshing that a mainstream actor of Suriya's stature has committed to a socially relevant film where the protagonist is a messiah of sorts for the marginalised. Karnan-fame Ravisha Vijayan, who was in the news recently for her Telugu debut project Ramarao on Duty, is cast as the female lead in Jai Bhim.

Take a look at the production house's tweet about the second look:

Written by Manikadan, the film, to release in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam simultaneously also stars Rao Ramesh, Prakash Raj and Sanjay Swaroop in crucial roles. Earlier on Thursday, Sun Pictures had announced the title of the actor's 40th film as Etharkkum Thunindavan, an action entertainer directed by Pandiraj. In stark contrast to Jai Bhim, Suriya was seen in an aggressive, massy avatar in the 39-second long glimpse shared by the producers. Apart from this film, the actor will also collaborate with director Vetri Maaran for a film titled Vaadi Vasal, produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu.
