TJ Gnanavel's Jai Bhim, which received unanimous critical acclaim, has been managing to hit the headlines once or twice in a week ever since its direct-to-OTT release on Amazon Prime Video in November. The Suriya-starrer was recently in the news when a video clip from the film was featured in the Oscars' YouTube channel.

A few days later, the makers announced that the movie has been shortlisted among the 276 films for the prestigious 94th Academy Award nominations. The nominations for the prestigious Academy Awards will be announced on February 8. The most-anticipated 94th Oscars ceremony is expected to take place on March 27.

Now, the movie has bagged another feat; it has won three awards at the 9th Noida International Film Festival. Apart from emerging as the winner in the Best Film category, Jai Bhim also managed to win award under the Best Actor and Best Actress categories for the performances of Suriya and Lijomol respectively in it.

Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh, Manikandan and Tamizh are other actors who received appreciation from the audience upon the film's release. Guru Somasundaram, Kumaravel and MS Bhaskar among others played notable characters in the movie which was based on real-life incidents which happened in the 90s.

Sean Roldan composed music for the project which had cinematography by S R Kathir and editing by Philomin Raj. The court room drama was released in five languages on the OTT platform. Jai Bhim had first hit the headlines for its high IMDb rating, surpassing the likes of a few epic Hollywood movies.

The film had also courted controversies when a few caste and political outfits in Tamil Nadu accused the makers for wrongly portraying some of the events in it. They even went on to threaten Suriya after which many Kollywood actors and filmmakers extended their support to the actor, who had also produced the movie.
