Suriya reveals an update on a film based on the Rolex character from Vikram, leaving fans in a tizzy
The actor's next outing is Kanguva which will be a summer release in 2024,

Fans of Suriya were excited when the makers of Kanguva unveiled a glimpse video on his birthday a few weeks ago. The fantasy movie will be a summer release in 2024. The actor does not have any release this year, and his last outing as a lead hero was Etharkkum Thunindhavan which was out in 2022.
However, Kamal Haasan's Vikram, in which he played the sensational character Rolex, went on to become a huge hit, and the role was appreciated by everyone. The portrayal of a dreaded gangster left his fans thrilled, and film buffs were eager to know if director Lokesh Kanagaraj could come up with a spin-off for the character.
Suriya himself has now revealed that the director has a plan for the same. In fact, the Leo filmmaker has told him about the idea behind the movie that explains the backstory of Rolex. If everything goes well, the project might happen after the director completes his current assignments.
Lokesh is likely to direct Rajinikanth next. An official announcement on the same can be expected in a few months. He will begin work on Kaithi 2 later after which the sequel to Vikram with Kamal Haasan will be made.
Suriya is expected to join the much-awaited project with Vetri Maaran, Vaadi Vaasal, after the filmmaker finishes works of Viduthalai 2 which was earlier announced as an October release. The actor will team up with Soorarai Pottru filmmaker Sudha Kongara again.
GV Prakash, who composed music for the National Award-winning movie, will be the musician this time as well. He is the musician for the film's Hindi remake, too, which is yet to be titled.
