The director revealed at a recent event that the actor is training with the bulls and Jallikattu fighters,
We know that Suriya has a film lined up with director Vetri Maaran, titled Vaadivaasal. As the title suggests, the film revolves around the traditional bull-taming sport in Tamil Nadu, Jallikattu. Vetri Maaran had recently revealed at an award function that Suriya has bought two Jallikattu bulls for the film and that he is training hard for his character as a Jallikattu bull tamer in the film. He is also training with Jallikattu fighters. Since Suriya has spent a considerable time prepping for the role, and it is said that the character is likely to look as authentic as possible.
A test shoot of the film was conducted at ECR, Chennai and a poster of Suriya was released with the imprint of a bull in the backdrop. The plot is said to be based based on Tamil writer CS Chellappa’s novel of the same name.
Suriya is said to be playing a dual role in the film. The leading lady is yet to be announced. While GV Prakash Kumar will be scoring the music, cinematography will be by R Velraj. The film is produced by producer Kalaipuli S Thanu's V Creations. The shoot is expected to begin later this year.
In the meantime, Suriya is busy shooting for his mentor director Bala's upcoming film, which is tentatively referred to as Suriya 41. The shoot for the first schedule has been wrapped up. The film, which kickstarted in Kanyakumari has successfully completed its 34-day schedule and the next schedule is all set to begin in Goa in June. The film's production house shared the news on its social media page, "After the successful completion of the 1st schedule of 34 days in Kanyakumari, #Suriya41 is ready for the next stage! The next schedule of 15 days is all set to start in Goa in June after extensive set work! @Suriya_offl #Jyotika #DirBala @rajsekarpandian (sic)."
