Suriya 44 update: Suriya’s second look for the Karthik Subbaraj directorial is out

Suriya is joining hands with filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj for his 44th outing in films, which has been tentatively titled Suriya 44. The actor is set to appear in two different looks, in the film.

Suriya is all set to team up with filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj, for his next project. The movie, which marks the National Award-winning actor’s 44th outing in Tamil cinema has been tentatively titled Suriya 44. The popular star’s first look from the film, which was released with the Suriya 44 first shot video on his birthday, highly impressed the actor’s fans and cine-goers. However, now it has been confirmed that the leading man is sporting multiple looks in Karthik Subbaraj’s film.

In the recent fan clicks from the sets of Suriya 44 that are going viral on social media, leading man Suriya is seen sporting a new look. For the uninitiated, the actor was seen with a semi-long hairdo and thick, long mustache for his first look in the Karthik Subbaraj directorial. However, in the new location clicks from the sets of the upcoming action drama the leading man is seen in a freshly trimmed beard and mustache, with a shorter hairdo.

From both the looks of the film, it is safe to assume that the National Award-winning actor will be essaying multiple stages of his character in the film. Even though the makers have not officially revealed anything about Suriya’s role in the film, the recently released special glimpse video suggests that the actor’s character in the film is a dreaded gangster. It is also confirmed that the Karthik Subbaraj directorial is an action film, set in a different period.

Suriya 44 release plans

If the reports are to be believed, the makers of Suriya 44 are now planning to release the film during the Pongal season of 2025. Reportedly, the team started considering the Pongal season for the release of the Karthik Subbaraj directorial after Thug Life, the upcoming Kamal Haasan starrer is confirmed to have an April 2025 release. The final schedule of Suriya 44 is currently progressing in Chennai, and is expected to be wrapped up in a few days. Pooja Hegde, the leading lady recently announced the completion of her portions in the film, with a social media post.
