Helmed by debutant director Arun Varma, Garudan also features Biju Menon in a crucial role
Actor-politician Suresh Gopi is set to make another comeback in Malayalam cinema, with a string of exciting releases. After his triumphant return through movies like Varane Avashyamund and Paappan the National Award-winning actor is gearing up for his upcoming project, titled Garudan. This film is written by Anjaam Pathiraa director Midhun Manuel Thomas. Speaking of the latest, Gopi recently revealed that Garudan will hit the theatres in November 2023.
The actor also shared a new poster, featuring his face merged with an eagle’s wing. According to the director, Arun Varma, the film will be a perfect blend of investigative and courtroom drama with a mix of commercial elements. Along with Suresh, Biju Menon will also play a pivotal role in the movie.
Suresh Gopi and Biju Menon reunite in Garudan
Suresh and Biju have acted together in movies like FIR Randam Bhavam and Pathram. In Garudan, the two actors are likely to play intense characters. Biju is expected to play a professor in the film, while Suresh will be seen as a police officer. A teaser of the movie was released on Suresh’s birthday, where he was shown fighting a group of people while wearing a helmet.
In a recent interview with OTTplay Arun said that Suresh and Biju play authentic and unfiltered characters in the movie. “Similar to Kunchacko Boban’s character in Anjaam Pathiraa, they are not exaggerated or unrealistic,” he added. The movie will feature Abhirami and Divya Pillai as the lead actresses.
Suresh Gopi’s upcoming projects
Suresh will be next seen in JSK (Janaki v State of Kerala) as a lawyer. Additionally, the actor is set to reunite with director Jayaraj after 26 years for an upcoming project, called Oru Perumgaliyattam in which Suresh will portray the character Peruvannan.
Suresh had won the National Award for his performance in Kaliyattam directed by Jayaraj. In addition to his upcoming projects, Suresh has also been cast in Ottakomban, Highway 2 and an yet-untitled mass entertainer, alongside Rahul Ramachandran.
