Even though the investigation regarding the alleged rape case against Vijay Babu is progressing, the actor-producer has begun work on his production company’s next film, which has Suraj Venjaramoodu and Basil Joseph in the lead.

The movie, which went on floors in Payyanur, is helmed by debutant Adithyan Chandrasekhar, who was the creator of the web series Rock, Paper, Scissors and Average Ambili. Adithyan was also part of Vineeth Sreenivasan’s Hridayam and most recently had starred in Karikku’s Sebastianinte Velliyazhcha, which he had also scripted.

The film, which is yet to be titled, also has Saiju Kurup. Niranjana Anoop and Tanvi Ram play the female leads in the film that is touted to be an entertainer. Scripted by Adithyan and Arjun Narayanan, the movie’s plot is set in North Malabar and revolves around people in a village. Rajesh Sharma and Abhiram Radhakrishnan are also part of the film, which will have a host of newcomers in supporting roles. The movie has Jithin Stansilaus as its cinematographer and Ifti as its music director.

The entertainer marks Friday Film House’s next production after the Midhun Manuel Thomas directorial, which has Indrans, Aju Varghese and Vijay Babu in the lead. The production house has also completed works on Ratheesh Ambat’s socio-political thriller Theerpu, which has Prithviraj Sukumaran, Indrajith Sukumaran, Saiju Kurup and Hannah Reji Koshy in the lead. The film is expected to be a direct-to-OTT release.

Vijay Babu, who was last seen in Rajisha Vijayan’s Keedam, meanwhile last year had also announced that he would be partnering with Abundantia Entertainment to remake Rojin Thomas’ #Home in Hindi. The Malayalam movie, which released directly on Amazon Prime Video last Onam, was universally acclaimed for its feel-good content about a technologically-challenged father learning to navigate the challenges of the digital world to connect with his sons.
