The recent K-pop controversy revolves around the incident involving the boy group BOYNEXTDOOR. This event has stirred varied responses, particularly since December 18, when the contentious X (formerly Twitter) account @BBOSONGEEEEE shared a video.

The footage captures BOYNEXTDOOR walking at the airport and surrounded by security and throngs of fans. As one fan approached too closely for pictures, a security team member intervened and pushed her, inadvertently causing her to fall to the ground. The resulting noise and commotion prompted several members of BOYNEXTDOOR's team to turn around to look.

Netizens expressed diverse opinions on the incident, with many going to the extent of asserting that the fan "deserved it," citing concerns about posing a threat to the idols' privacy and safety.

BOYNEXTDOOR's agency issues statement:

KOZ Entertainment issued an apology for BOYNEXTDOOR's security incident and expressed their regret, stating, "We sincerely apologize to our fans for the issues arising from the inappropriate conduct of the security personnel who were responsible for ensuring BOYNEXTDOOR's safety at the airport on December 16."

The agency acknowledged that they had personally apologized to individuals directly impacted by the incident. Additionally, they disclosed that the security personnel implicated would not be tasked with providing security for their artists in upcoming events. In a proactive measure to prevent similar incidents, KOZ Entertainment declared their intention to introduce additional security training and guidance for their personnel. They emphasized their dedication to improving security education to mitigate the risk of any future occurrences.
