A video capturing Superstar Rajinikanth on the sets of his upcoming movie Lal Salaam has recently surfaced online, creating a buzz among fans. In the leaked footage, Rajinikanth is seen donning his character Moideen Bhai's costume and walking briskly, as he is known for, while a massive crowd gathers around to catch a glimpse of the iconic actor.

Directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, Lal Salaam marks her return to the director's chair after a hiatus of seven years. Her last directorial venture was the Tamil action-thriller Vai Raja Vai, which featured a cameo appearance by Dhanush, her husband.

Rumours suggest that Lal Salaam is set against the backdrop of cricket and communism, adding an intriguing element to the storyline. The film has also managed to secure a special cameo appearance by cricketing legend Kapil Dev. The film has Vishnu Vishal and Vikrant in the lead roles.

The entirety of Rajinikanth's portion in Lal Salaam has been shot against the vibrant backdrop of Mumbai. Bankrolled by Lyca Productions, the movie has a musical score by Oscar-winner AR Rahman.

Rajinikanth, meanwhile, is waiting for the release of his next project titled Jailer. The film, helmed by director Nelson, is currently in the post-production phase. Backed by Sun Pictures, Jailer has garnered immense anticipation as one of the most-awaited movies of 2023. Nelson has managed to assemble an ensemble cast, including industry heavyweights such as Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Tamannaah, Ramya Krishnan, Sunil, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, and Vinayakan.

Jailer is due in cinemas on August 10.
