The poster shows the actor walking in style even as riots happen in the background
Superstar Rajinikanth's first-look poster from Aishwarya Rajinikanth's Lal Salaam dropped on social media at 12 am midnight. The poster has the actor strutting in style wearing a bandhgala sherwani and cap. What's interesting is that riots are happening in the background. Vehicles are being burnt and people are seen running helter skelter.

Newspaper clippings also announce many headlines including the mention of the Aldershot riots that took place in 1945. One of the headlines also mentions Mumbai. Interestingly, Rajinikanth's popular film Baasha was also set in the backdrop of Mumbai and fans have begun comparisons on the same.The intriguing poster has piqued the curiosity of many.
Taking to its social media handle, the film's production house, Lyca Productions, wrote, "Everyone’s favourite BHAI is back in Mumbai Make way for #Thalaivar
Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth play the lead in the film, which is said to be a sports drama that revolves around cricket. It is to be noted that both the actors are cricketers in real life, too, and play for Chennai Rhinos in the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL).
The first schedule of the shoot, which spanned 34 days, was wrapped up in April. The team celebrated the completion of the schedule with a cake-cutting ceremony and dropped pictures on social media. Lal Salaam has music by AR Rahman.
In the meantime, the Superstar is awaiting the release of Jailer, in which he plays a stylish character called Muthuvel Pandian. The film, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, will hit screens on August 10.
