Superstar Rajinikanth has endorsed the Union Government's Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, which aims at encouraging people to hoist the National Flag in their homes from August 13 to 15. The Superstar not only changed his Twitter DP recently to the Tricolour, but also hoisted the National Flag at his in Chennai, as part of the campaign.
Today, he dropped a video message in Tamil on his social media handle with the National Flag in the backdrop along with a note in English, in which he urged everyone to follow suit and celebrate the 75th Indian Independence Day with pride.
His note read, "This is the 75th year of independence for India.. our mother land. As a mark of respect, and as an expression of our unity... for all the lakhs of people who suffered untold struggles and miseries.. pain and humiliation.. for all those many thousands of people who sacrified their lives selflessly for this freedom,.. for all those freedom fighters, martyrs and leaders.. let us honour and salute them with gratitude.. beyond caste, religion and politics.. let us pass on our Indian National Flag to our next generation of kids and youngsters to be proudly displayed outside our homes, offices and work places. Let us celebrate the great Indian 75th Independence Day with pride.. Let our national flag fly everywhere as we salute them. Jai Hindi."
Meanwhile the buzz is that Rajinikanth has been invited as one of the guests for the Independence Day celebrations in New Delhi on August 15.
Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, too, was recently seen hoisting the National Flag at his residence as part of the campaign that will be on until August 15. He, too, had changed his Twitter DP. He had told ANI, "May this Mahotsav bring courage and inspire us to move forward with a lot of patriotism."
