Superman is still many months away from its official release and now if the latest buzz is to go by we may get a trailer in less than a month.
Superman Trailer Release Date Revealed Reportedly
Optimism and hope have kept the fans of DCU loyal for close to two years now as James Gunn and Peter Safran took over the boss chairs and revamped the entire franchise. The fans have been waiting with bated breaths for them to finally begin their promised era and start releasing movies. However, they will have to wait for over eight more months before the first live-action film under the new leadership hits the big screen. Yes, we are talking about Superman which is set to release on July 11, 2025. While fans are understandably getting restless, the biggest update about the movie has now been rumored, revealing when we can expect the first trailer to drop.
For the unversed, earlier titled Superman: Legacy Superman has been in the headlines for a long while now. James Gunn chose to write and direct this as the first DCU project after his takeover. The movie stars David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, and an ensemble cast that is very exciting. The last confirmed update we had from Gunn was that he has cut the trailer of Superman, and it is on his hard drive. This left fans excited, as it confirmed that a trailer release is happening pretty soon. Turns out we might now know when. Read on to know everything you should about the same.
As per a Collider report, the trailer for Superman will land on the internet in mid-December. Yes, you read that right. The trailer is expected to drop in less than a month's time. Interestingly, it is being said that the trailer might be attached to Mufasa: The Lion King in theaters. However, nothing has been confirmed yet. But mid-December is also an ideal time to release the trailer of this much-anticipated movie, as December 15th marks the 46th anniversary of Christopher Reeve's Superman: The Movie. There is no better date to drop the trailer in the near future.
The only thing confirmed about Superman is that the movie will not serve as another origin story for Clark Kent. Instead, the movie finds a young Clark Kent (aka Kal-El) and explores how he balances his Kryptonian heritage with his normal life as an up-and-coming reporter at The Daily Planet. He lives in Smallville, Kansas, with his adoptive family. The film will feature Lex Luthor as the villain, played by Nicholas Hoult, who, according to James Gunn, will have a very significant presence.
The initial logline for the movie reads, “Superman, a cub reporter in Metropolis, embarks on a journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent.” Superman is set to hit the big screen on July 11, 2025.
