Anurag Kashyap's film, which also stars Rahul Bhat, was screened at the ongoing Sydney Film Festival
Sunny Leone, who plays the female lead in Anurag Kashyap's film Kennedy, is feeling nothing but gratitude for a rousing applause from the audience after it was screened at the ongoing Sydney Film Festival.
Talking about her experience as an actress and the acclaim that Kennedy has received, Sunny said, "I feel extremely proud and honoured to have been a part of this film. Working on this project has been a remarkable experience for me as an actor. It's truly gratifying to see the film receiving such immense love and appreciation from audiences around the world."
The world premiere of the film took place at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, and the actress, along with the cast and director, travelled to the festival, where it received a standing ovation.
Referring to her earlier experience from Cannes, Sunny described the audiences' response at that and the Sydney film festivals as a testament to their hard work.
She said, "It's overwhelming, and their (the audience's) applause is a testament to the hard work and passion that went into making this film. I am grateful for the opportunity to be associated with a project that resonates with people on a global scale. It reinforces my belief in the power of cinema to touch hearts and transcend boundaries. I couldn't be happier to witness the success of Kennedy and to be a part of this incredible journey."
Making her debut in Bollywood with the film Jism 2 in 2012 after gaining popularity in Bigg Boss 5, Sunny went on to star in films like Ragini MMS 2, Ek Paheli Leela, Mastizaade, One Night Stand, and her biographical web series, Karenjit Kaur – The Untold Story of Sunny Leone.
In Kennedy, she is seen in a different avatar, and her character and performance have received a lot of appreciation. The film is produced by Zee Studios and Ranjan Singh and Kabir Ahuja of Good Bad Films. Sylvester Fonseca is the director, while the music has been composed by Ashish Narula with Aamir Aziz and Boyblanck. Kennedy also features Megha Burman, Abhilash Thapliyal, and Mohit Takalkar.
