Sunny Deol and Sanjay Dutt, who worked together in movies like Yodha and Kroadh, are likely to collaborate for a new project. Various reports claim that the duo is working on a film that will tell the tale of the Babri Masjid case. The movie is touted to be a legal drama. Interestingly, Sunny is recognized for his project, Damini, which saw him in the role of a lawyer.

Where did the reports start?

The reports commenced after KRK’s tweet on the project. He has shared a post in which he claims that Sunny is co-producing the project with Viacom 18. He also shared that a certain Manoj will direct the film. Fans feel he is referring to lyricist Manoj Muntashir.

Projects Sunny Deol is and isn’t a part of

There were rumours that Sunny Deol has joined hands with JP Dutta for a reboot of Border. The movie remains a cult film. Sunny denied all such rumours and said that he would decide on it eventually but not currently.

Sunny is also expected to be a part of Maa Tujhe Salaam 2. The movie is being bankrolled by Zee Studios in association with Mahendra Dhariwal. KV Vijayendra Prasad will reportedly be penning the story of the upcoming film. Reportedly, the studio had greenlit the idea but was waiting for Gadar 2’s release.

Gadar 2 success

Sunny Deol is currently enjoying the success of Gadar 2. The movie is now the third highest grossing film in India. The film is in competition with Baahubali: The Conclusion. It is competing with Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan very closely. The movie is the highest grossing film to date. Thus, it is, in fact, Gadar 2’s success that has brought the 90s actor back in limelight and made him a favourite among directors currently.
