The duo have collaborated on films such as Ghayal(1990), Damini(1993) and Ghatak(1996).
Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi have made magic together on screen, bringing Bollywood some memorable action entertainers such as Ghayal(1990), Damini(1993) and Ghatak(1996). Although it has been decades since the duo collaborated together, it has not stopped cinephiles from hoping that it would happen soon someday. And it seems that the prospect of such a collaboration isn’t too far-fetched either. Sunny recently spoke about the possibility of a collaboration between him and Rajkumar.
In conversation with Pinkvilla, the actor said that he was well aware that fans were anxiously awaiting another collaboration between the duo. He revealed that both he and the director too were very keen on it happening someday as well, but nothing related to the same came to fruition as yet.
On being questioned on whether the two were discussing any potential story ideas, Sunny said that even though he did not have a definitive answer on that as yet, he and Rajkumar did meet up at times. On their working relationship, Sunny said that the two liked to challenge each other when they worked together. They did not like to do the same kinds of things and were constantly in pursuit of discovering something new. “There are a couple of subjects we are talking about at the moment, so let’s hope they materialize”, said Sunny.
Meanwhile, Sunny will next be seen in R Balki’s upcoming directorial Chup: Revenge of the Artist, which is slated for release on September 23. The film also stars Dulquer Salmaan, Pooja Bhatt and Shreya Dhanwanthary in prominent roles as well. The actor also has Anil Sharma’s Gadar 2, M. Padmakumar’s Soorya and Vivek Chauhan’s Baap in the pipeline.
Rajkumar is currently awaiting the release of his upcoming directorial Bad Boy, which marks the film debut of Namashi Chakraborty.
