Welcome to the Jungle has been in the making for a while now. The Ahmed Khan directorial boasts an ensemble star cast, including the iconic comic trio of Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty. Almost six months before the film's theatrical release, character details for Suniel Shetty from Welcome 3 are out. According to a Hindustan Times report, the actor will play a don in the film but there's a twist.
Suniel Shetty to play a 'loveable don' in Welcome to the Jungle?
The media report suggests that Suniel Shetty will play a don with a witty sense of humour in Welcome to the Jungle. As per the report, the actor will be seen as a 'loveable don' in the film. The report further states that the makers have planned a magnificent and lavish introduction sequence for Suniel.
"In his career, Suniel has played some of the most iconic comedy characters, and it will be exciting to see the actor back in his comic avatar," a source told the publication. Suniel is reportedly excited to be back in the comedy zone, especially with his friends and Hera Pheri co-stars, Akshay and Paresh.
As of now, Suniel is enjoying his time while working on the Welcome to the Jungle set. His character in the comic space is different from what has been seen before. Shetty is apparently eager to hear the feedback from the audience once they watch his character in Welcome 3.
Sanjay Dutt quits Welcome to the Jungle
In other news, Sanjay Dutt has walked out of Ahmed Khan's Welcome to the Jungle. The actor was an integral part of the comic caper and had even shot a few scenes. Buzz is that the makers are planning to integrate his character into the storyline in a way that it goes missing after a point in the film. However, there's no confirmation on the same by the makers yet.
Meanwhile, the star cast of Welcome 3 also includes Raveena Tandon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, Lara Dutta, Johnny Lever and Shreyas Talpade, among several others. The film will be released on December 20, 2024.
