From Comedy Nights with Kapil to The Kapil Sharma Show, Sumona Chakravarti had been an integral part of comedian Kapil Sharma's shows. Hence, when The Great Indian Kapil Show premiered on Netflix, the actress' absence left many people surprised. Until now, Sumona kept mum about the same. However, in a recent interview with PTI, Chakravarti broke her silence on the matter. While she acknowledged the question about her absence from Kapil's Netflix show, the actress didn't reveal the reason behind her exit.

Sumona Chakravarti was recently asked about her absence from The Great Indian Kapil Show. To this, the actress told the news agency, "I don’t have an answer to this. The show that I was part of, which was on another channel, ended last year in July. Since then, I’ve been on my own journey, doing my own things, networking, and meeting people."
Having said that, the actress mentioned how people missed seeing her on the screen. Sumona added that the audiences' willingness to see her motivates her to do something different. Recalling the time she was in London last year, Sumona met many Indians who told that they liked her in the TV show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain.
"It’s really nice to see the love coming whether it’s for Bade Achhe… or Comedy Nights. It’s great and you know you are doing something right. Nobody expected me to do well in comedy," she added.
Sumona Chakravarty joins Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 squad
Meanwhile, Sumona has been confirmed to participate in Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, to be hosted by Rohit Shetty. The reality show is expected to be shot in Romania this time. Apart from the actress, Krishna Shroff, Karanveer Mehra, Gashmeer Mahajani, Aashish Mehrotra, Aditi Sharma, Shalin Bhanot, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, Abhishek Kumar and several others will be seen as KKK14 contestants. The show will soon air on Colors TV and stream on JioCinema.
