Summane: Praveen Tej serenades Vijayshree in Jigar’s first song

The commercial entertainer directed by debutant Suri Kunder, has music by Ritvik Muralidhar

In late 2021, actor Praveen Tej had spoken about a new film that he was working on, which, he said, would be his first commercial entertainer. Called Jigar, the film set against a coastal backdrop, pairs Praveen with debutante Vijayshree. The film, Praveen had said, is a typical romantic entertainer that’s been shot in the coastal areas of Karnataka. And today, the film team gave audiences a glimpse of this when the first song was released. The full video of the song Summane, composed by Ritvik Muralidhar, with lyrics by Arjun Louis and sung by Sanjith Hegde, features Praveen serenading Vijayshree, as she goes from being reluctant to look at him to showing mild interest.

Praveen and Vijayshree’s cute chemistry and the song’s mellifluous melody apart, what also makes it an interesting watch are the scenic visuals of the coastal area, captured by Shiva Seena, who has earlier worked on films like Atharva, Virataparva and Chemistry of Kariyappa, among others. The film, directed by debutant Suri Kunder, has been backed by Pooja Vasanthkumar of UK Productions, who was also behind films like Aana and Baang, recently.

Ritvik, who recently tried his hand at acting with the action flick Baang, which also starred Shanvi Srivastava and Raghu Dixit, among others, returns to his first love, music, with Jigar. The film will be Praveen’s first solo-hero film since Hondisi Bareyiri, which came out earlier this year. Ramenahalli Jagannatha’s film was the actor’s first in three years and saw him share screen space with Shri, Naveen Shankar, Anirudh Acharya, Aishani Shetty and Archana Jois, Samyukta Hornad and Bhaavanaa Raaoh, among others. Up next, the actor has signed up for a social drama called Thukra Thaniya, directed by Raghu Shivamogga. He will be joined by Achyuth Kumar in this tale of underdogs.
