The thriller by Kishore Bhargav has Ram in the lead.
Suman Nagarkar, who is best remembered for her role in the Sunil Kumar Desai film’s Beladingala Baala and Nishkarsha, has been doing Kannada films on and off since her return with the 2015 Ishtakamya. Since then, Suman has been doing one or two films every year, like Re, Jeerjimbe, etc. and the latest, we hear, is that she will be seen in the upcoming Kannada-Hindi bilingual, Stalker.
Directed by Kishore Bhargav, who had earlier made the Hindi film Psycho and is a long-time associate of filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, Stalker has Ram in the lead and will see Suman in the role of a fiery Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) officer.
Releasing the poster of the film, featuring Suman, director Kishore, said, “I was looking for a known face to play the role of the chief of an Anti-Terrorism Squad, as it is through her POV that the plot takes a turn. I could only think of Suman in that character, as she embodies the rare combination of intensity and intelligence.”
Stalker, which also stars Aiswarya Nambiar, Uday Achar, Namrata Patil, Jiten Arora and Bhavanishankar Desai among others, is a thriller co-written by Somashekara NK and Bharath Pramod. The film has cinematography by Vinod J Rajis and music by Skanda Kashyap. Stalker has been produced by Script Tease Films in association with SML Productions, headed by MNV Ramana and Sandeep Gowda. “The core vision of this collaboration is to make content-driven cinema. The idea is not just to make small films but smart films,” adds Kishore.
Suman, who is an avid marathon runner, had undertaken a run during the pandemic to raise funds for the needy. The actress is also committed to a film with Raghavendra Rajkumar, called Ward Number 11, a musical called Brahmi with director Pradeep Varma, as well as a Kannada web show called Kranthipura.
