The small screen star's comeback film Jayamma Panchayathi hits theatres on May 6
It's a role reversal for small-screen queen, popular host and anchor Suma Kanakala this time as she embarks on a promotional tour for her comeback film, Jayamma Panchayathi. While she always has her hands full interacting with leading stars for the promotional interviews of their films, this time she has to face the music for Jayamma Panchayathi. The rural drama is written and directed by Vijay Kumar Kalivarapu (who has also penned the dialogues).
Suma will be heading to Warangal today to promote Jayamma Panchayathi, on what promises to be a hectic day. While she will be visiting the Bhadrakali temple praying for the film's success in the first half of the day, she will be part of a media interaction around noon. In the later part of the day, she will be visiting the students of Arts and Science College, Warangal and spreading the word about the film.
Relatability is always an advantage that Suma is certain to enjoy during her promotions and one hopes this translates to impressive footfalls at the theatre the coming week. The film revolves around an innocent yet strong woman who has to fight with the elderly men in a village over a conflict. A single from the film, Golusu Kattu Gosalu, lyricised by Chaitanya Prasad and rendered by Charu Hariharan and Keeravaani was also launched yesterday.
Balaga Prakash has produced Jayamma Panchayathi under Vennela Creations. While the film was to hit theatres initially on April 22, the release date was later pushed to May 6, a week after Acharya storms the screens. MM Keeravaani has composed music for the drama that also stars writer, actor Devi Prasad.
