Sudipa Chatterjee has lost her mother. She has been ill for a long time and the situation got critical twice, but she recovered. This time, she lost the battle. Sudipa's mother had a heart attack last May. After three months, she had a massive cerebral attack and was in ventilation for a long time. One side of her body got paralysed. Still, she fought for several months.

Sudipa shared the news on social media. She shared her mother's picture and wrote two lines of a Tagore song in the caption, “Jodi Thaki Kachakachi--Dekhite Na Pao…”

By her own admission, her mother was Sudipa’s inspiration and support system. She is devastated right now. Her friends expressed sympathy in the comment box. Actress Lajbanti Roy wrote, “Terrible news. Those who suffer know the pain. Be strong and may God give you the strength to overcome this. Let Masima be in peace in heaven.” Bhaswar Chatterjee wrote, “Losing one's mother is painful.” Joyjit Banerjee advised her to be safe.

Sudipa perhaps sensed the impending event. Two months back, she shared an emotional post on her mother's birthday – “I don't know how many birthdays we can spend together. But let me tell you one thing, mother is the only one who doesn't judge you in any situation,” she wrote.
