Sudhakar Komakula, who shot to fame with Sekhar Kammula’s Life is Beautiful and starred in the crime comedy Narayana & Co (out on Amazon Prime Video) recently, is back in action with an indie music video, Memories. Memories is produced by Sudhakar himself under Sukha Media. The experimental music video blends real-world footage with 2D animation and was completely shot in San Francisco, USA.

Memories will be released via the popular YouTube indie music channel Nivriti Vibes. Much like Sudhakar’s earlier video Lollipop, his next endeavour Memories will be out in five languages: Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. The music video is directed by aspiring filmmaker Anvesh Bashyam, who has previously worked on short films like Chotu and Manoharam.

The music video offers listeners/viewers a dose of nostalgia while exploring the story of Varun. The song captures his journey as he loses purpose in his life and gradually transforms for the better. Brian Durkee is the cinematographer and Srikanth R Patnaik is the editor. Arun Chandrashekaran has scored the music for Memories, which has a compelling lineup of singers and lyricists as well.

The man behind the Oscar-winning Naatu Naatu from RRR, Rahul Sipligunj, has crooned for the number in Telugu with Vasuki Vaibhav, Susa, Arjun Vijay, and Ritesh G Rao in Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi versions, respectively. Purnachary, KB Shree Karthik, Bhuvanesh S, Arjun Vijay, Varadaraj Chikkaballapura and Ritesh Rao G are the lyricists across five languages.

The song creators promise an ‘immersive audiovisual experience’ with Memories, which also features a simple hook step, inviting viewers to groove to it. Besides producing and starring in it, Sudhakar has choreographed the dance moves and is the stylist for the same. The director, Anvesh Bashyam, is also the costume designer. The song is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
