GV Prakash has become Sudha's go-to composer following the massive success of Soorarai Pottru. Written and directed by Sudha, Soorarai Pottru made a direct release on streaming platforms owing to the pandemic situation in the country. The movie was an instant hit, garnering critical acclaim from both critics and audiences. Prakash's songs and background score also played a significant role in the film's success.
He was again roped in for Sudha's next movie with Suriya, tentatively titled Suriya 43 . The movie was said to be a period drama and was expected to go into production this year. However, the project was delayed for unknown reasons.
Speculations were rife that the project was put on hold due to creative differences between Suriya and Sudha. However, the filmmakers issued a clarification, dismissing the rumours. "Puranaanooru requires more time. This collaboration is very special and close to our hearts. We are working towards giving you our best. We will be going into production very soon. Thank you for your constant love and support," Suriya said while announcing the delay in the project.
